Training

Vines is a Social Enterprise Business, which means it exists primarily to achieve a significant social benefit for our local communities. The way in which we do this is to engage young people (14-25) from our local area in quality training & work experience placements and employment as a core part of our business. Profits generated by the enterprise are used to support the wider aims and objectives of The Vine Trust Group.

Our Catering Team comes with over 25 years of experience of working within the industry and training is delivered “on-the-job” to provide a real flavour of work in a commercial kitchen and restaurant operation. Training and experience gained from a placement with Vines will be the foundation for a successful and sustainable career in the catering and hospitality industry.

Training placements are offered for both Kitchen and Front of House and require trainees to be passionate about food, quality and customer service. We also host paid apprenticeships.

Accredited Training Programmes


NVQ’s

Level 1 & 2 programmes are offered to successful placements and are fully supported by our own team of qualified internal assessors. These courses are offered subject to funding criteria.

RSPH – Food Safety in Catering Level 2

Vines offers this programme at regular intervals throughout the year to individuals and small groups. This programme is usually delivered over 2 half-days at our offices in Lower Hall Lane. If you have a group of 8 or more we can also deliver the programme at your own site at no extra cost.

Programme cost - £50 per person (includes all materials, test fee and a buffet lunch)
